Lauren & Andrew ~ 05.08.10 ~ Tampa, FL

November 19, 2010

Working with a couple like Lauren and Andrew embody the reasons I love what I do, and inspire me to improve. Their rare combination of graciousness, sophistication and style resulted in a fun, successful collaboration. Lauren came to us for their save the date announcements and continued with their elegant invitations and stylish day-of paper pieces, all of which maintained a gorgeous color and design combination of fairway green, champagne and ivory. Elegant yet coordinated. A girl after my own heart.

Reception Venue: Museum of Fine Arts, St. Petersburg, FL

It’s hard to choose just one favorite detail of this wedding. First: I absolutely adored working with Katherine and her family for the second time — view Katherine’s sister Kristen’s wedding in Nov. 2009 here — they are creative, think-outside-the-box folks. We spent many afternoons kicking around fun ideas in my studio or having “what if…?” conversations via email. Second: the venue selection, color scheme, decor and lighting are true masterpieces of creativity and execution. Third: the invitations and stationery truly set the tone for the day, and how clever are the mini-canvas escort cards?

I developed an even deeper appreciation for event planners, decor, lighting and photography folks during the setup of this wedding — yes, I hung out at the museum for most of the day to witness firsthand the transformation, an astounding turnaround of just 2 hours because the museum doesn’t close early for private events. But that experience will be the subject of another blog post entirely.

Susanne & Bob ~ 05.29.10 ~ Tampa, FL

June 7, 2010

I love the colors and style of this wedding, expertly designed and coordinated by Simply Divine Events. The Davis Islands Garden Club is the perfect venue for their color palette of green, orange and yellow. Talk about attention to detail: the flowers on the cake matched the floral motif we designed for the save-the-date announcement and formal wedding invitation. While some guests may not make the connection, it’s those personal touches that make a wedding special and unique. More photos can be found at photographer Carrie Wilde’s blog.

Working with a clients like Daron is especially heartwarming because she has a deep appreciation for quality stationery, and truly embraced the notion that the invitation sets the tone for the event. The color palette of soft pink, chocolate brown and shimmery white translated beautifully to the 6×9 Booklet-style invitation, as well as the menus, table cards and ceremony programs. A special thank you Jason Angelini for the beautiful photography! More images from this beautiful wedding can be found at Jason Angelini’s Blog.

I love, I mean LOVE, this wedding. The bride was fantastic to work with, her colors and style were fun yet very elegant, and thanks to a team of extremely talented wedding professionals, I’ve got the gorgeous photography to prove it. Shannon has the keen ability to place unexpected and clever details into her events, like the round escort cards tied to the stem of martini glasses. Marvelous!

Real Wedding: Kristen & Gordon, November 2009

January 20, 2010

We thoroughly enjoyed working with the bride and her family on this classic, elegant wedding. The bride and groom did a spectacular job incorporating many personal touches in their special day. The tables were named after historic St. Petersburg landmarks, such as the St. Petersburg Yacht Club and Al Lang Field, corresponding vintage postcard images were used at each table and on the personalized escort cards. The favors included glass jars of honey and delicious homemade pear jelly, both made by members of the family.

Get Inspired: Exotic handmade papers

October 29, 2009

The Pocket invitation is one of our most popular styles for wedding and party invitations, so we love when clients are open to mixing in unique color and paper combinations. Ari and Allan’s antique gold pocket invitation for their December wedding is accented with a crinkled, hand-marbled paper from Thailand.

Real Wedding: Coral & Neil, September 2009

October 21, 2009

We had so much fun designing “upscale tropical” invitations and accessories for this beautiful wedding. This event was also particularly special to me for several reasons. First, Neil and Coral got married on my birthday. Second, I was able to indulge in one of my absolute favorite pasttimes…collecting seashells. We used real scallop seashells on their table number cards and “Mr.” and “Mrs.” chair hangtags. I couldn’t bring myself to go to a store and buy the seashells, as my step-mother (a longtime beach resident) reminded me, “That’s cheating.” So, my family and I spent several sun-soaked days at the beach collecting the perfect seashells for their cards.

And third, I absolutely LOVED their cake!

The vendors that made this wedding fabulous were:
Venue: The Don CeSar Resort & Spa
Event Planner: Shannon Wilson, Table 6 Productions
Photography: Aaron Lockwood Photography
Stationery: yours truly, Not From a Box
Florals: Redman Steele
Photobooth: ShutterBooth Tampa
Ceremony Music: Breezin Entertainment
Wedding Cake: The Don CeSar

Thank you Aaron for capturing this wedding so beautifully, and to Shannon for the opportunity to work with such a great couple. Enjoy!! I sure did…
